Lornets

Evidence note

ISO/IEC 25010:2023

Technical Standard2023ISO / IEC

What does it cover?

The current ISO SQuaRE product-quality model for specifying and evaluating ICT product quality.

Key points

  1. 01The 2023 edition defines a product-quality model using nine quality characteristics.
  2. 02It provides a recognised quality vocabulary but does not prescribe one universal implementation architecture.
  3. 03The current edition supersedes the older 2011 product-quality model.

Why it matters. Lornets interpretation.

Software quality is multidimensional. A system can perform strongly in one quality dimension while remaining constrained in another, which is one reason Lornets does not reduce readiness to a single scanner result.

This is the Lornets reading of the source, not a finding of the source itself.

What it does not establish

  1. 01The standard is copyrighted.
  2. 02Lornets must not reproduce substantial ISO tables or standard text.
  3. 03Referencing ISO/IEC 25010 does not make a Lornets assessment an ISO certification.
