Cookies and storage technologies
A factual description of the storage technologies this website uses, and the ones it deliberately does not.
01
Current position
During ordinary public browsing, lornets.com does not set non-essential cookies. We use Plausible Analytics to measure website usage and conversions in aggregate. It does not set cookies, does not write a browser storage identifier and does not create a persistent user identifier for us. The site is built to work without following you around the internet.
Because no non-essential storage technology is active, we do not ask you to accept or reject cookies. Asking for consent to technologies that are not in use would be misleading. If we later introduce something that requires consent, the control will be in place before that technology is enabled.
02
What we do not use
- Advertising cookies.
- Behavioural tracking or retargeting technologies.
- Session recording or behavioural profiling technologies.
- Profiling or audience-building technologies.
03
Technology register
This register lists only technologies that actually exist on the site today. Rows are added when a technology is introduced, not in anticipation.
| Technology | Provider | Purpose | Storage type | Duration | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly functional application storage | Lornets | Reserved for features that genuinely require local state, such as an authenticated session. Not written during ordinary public browsing. | Browser local storage | Until cleared by the user | Available, not active on public pages |
| Plausible Analytics measurement script | Plausible Analytics | Aggregate website usage and conversion measurement, such as page views, referral sources and a small set of commercial interaction events. | None. No cookie and no browser storage identifier is set. | Not applicable | Active |
| Self-hosted web fonts | Lornets | Rendering the site typefaces. | Standard browser cache, no cookie or storage key | Browser cache policy | Active |
04
Third party requests
The typefaces used across this site are served from our own domain, so your browser does not make a request to a third-party font service when you visit. The one third-party script loaded on public pages is the Plausible Analytics measurement script, which reports aggregate usage. It is not used for advertising, session recording or behavioural profiling.
Our database and transactional email providers operate on the server side only. They do not run scripts in your browser and do not set cookies or browser storage on this site, so their use does not create a consent requirement. How they process enquiry information is described in our privacy notice.
05
Future changes
Services we may introduce, such as meeting scheduling, could change the technologies in use. If that happens we will update this notice to name the provider, describe what is stored and explain the choices available, and where consent is required we will ask for it before the technology is enabled.
06
Controlling storage in your browser
Your browser lets you block or delete cookies and local storage for any site. Blocking strictly necessary storage may affect how parts of an application behave, though the public pages of this site are designed to work without it.
For how we handle personal information more generally, see our privacy notice.
